Reader Irenaeus (Dr Brad Jersak) gave a workshop on December 10th at Holy Resurrection Saskatoon, and the topic was taken from his book A More Christ-Like God.

There were many in attendance, a mixture of Orthodox as well as other Christians from various protestant churches. His talk was inspiring and his delivery easy to comprehend. People listened eagerly and asked many questions.

In a letter addressed to His Holiness, Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of All Africa of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, dated Thursday, December 15, 2016, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon expressed “the deep sorrow and shared grief of the Bishops, the clergy, the monastics and the faithful of the Orthodox Church in America” in response to the deadly bomb blast at Cairo’s Saint Peter Church, adjacent to the city’s Coptic Cathedral of Saint Mark, on Sunday, December 11.

By the mercy of God and the efforts of our faithful clergy and faithful, the Ontario Deanery was blessed this fall to host Archimandrite Daniel Byantoro, Dean and founder of the Orthodox Church in Indonesia.

Father Daniel’s Indonesian Mission Tour visited Kingston, several locations in Toronto, and Windsor, Ontario, before departing once again for the United States, en route to Indonesia.

Mrs. Olga Mogiljansky, in her early 90s, oldest and one of the most faithful parishioners, received the St. Tikhon medal from Archbishop Irénée on November 25th, at The Sign of the Theotokos Church, in Montreal.  She regularly attends and sings in the choir at Saturday Vespers.
