100th Anniversary Celebration at St Nicholas Church, Desjarlais, Alberta

On Sunday June 11, His Eminence Archbishop Irénée celebrated Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Church in Desjarlais, Alberta, on the occasion of the 100th year anniversary of the founding of the parish.

Concelebrating with the Archbishop were the rector of St. Nicholas. Fr. Tikhon Bishop, Archimandrite Gerasim Power, Fr. Nikolai Nikolaev, Fr. Daniel Friesen, Fr. Evgeny Prokhin, Protodeacon Jesse Isaac, Deacon Nicolas Svetlovsky, and Deacon Kolin Berglund.

During the liturgy the Archbishop awarded Fr. Tikhon with a nabedrennik for his work as rector. The Archbishop also awarded Deacon Kolin with a double orarion. At the end of the liturgy the Archbishop presented to the parish a gramota from the Holy Synod. The Archbishop then blessed water outside, followed by a procession around the church, blessing the church farm field and newly erected monument.
