Saint Arseny Orthodox Christian Theological Institute has published a calendar of classes for the Diaconate Certificate Program for 2018. The Saint Arseny Institute has been in operation for over 15 years providing classes for priests, the diaconate, readers and lay people. If you look around your parish, you may know some readers, subdeacons, deacons and priests who have received training from the Saint Arseny Institute.

The Feast of the Nativity of our Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ was celebrated at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral in Montréal with His Eminence Archbishop Irénée presiding at the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.

On the Eve of the Feast of the Navity of Christ, His Eminence Archbishop Irénée ordained Reader Sean Reid to the holy diaconate during a hierachical Divine Liturgy at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, Toronto.

Deacon Sean will serve at All Saints of North America Church in Hamilton.

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée will be in Mississauga, Ontario, on Saturday 16 December, at All Saints of Serbia Orthodox Cathedral, to concelebrate a pan-Orthodox hierarchical Divine Liturgy along with His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of the Serbian Archdiocese of Canada, before the relics of the newly-glorified Serbian saint, Mardarije of Libertyville.

St Mardarije was the first Serbian Orthodox bishop of America in Canada from 1925-1935. He was glorified in July 2017. His relics were found 82 years after his death to be miraculously incorrupt.
