Why study theology?
Studying theology deepens our knowledge of God, intensifies our life of prayer and our witness in the world, and strengthens our Christian faith and awareness of the Orthodox tradition. The study of theology and related disciplines prepares for ministry in the church, both for ordained ministry and for other positions of leadership, teaching and pastoral care in the church.
The Orthodox School of Theology at Trinity College welcomes all those who wish to learn about the Orthodox Christian tradition, including Orthodox Christians, Christians of other denominations and persons of other faiths or of none.
Why study at TST?
The Orthodox School of Theology at Trinity College is part of the highly-ranked Toronto School of Theology (TST) at the University of Toronto, a world-class university. The teaching staff of the Orthodox School of Theology consists of academically qualified and experienced instructors with personal knowledge and experience of Orthodoxy.
Students at TST have access to one of the best theological research libraries in North America, the chance to engage with Christians of different backgrounds and scholars in many fields, and the opportunity, if they wish, to progress to advanced graduate studies (ThM, PhD, or DMin).
