His Eminence Archbishop Irénée visited two Vancouver parishes on Saturday 29 July and Sunday 30 July. He served Great Vespers at Holy Resurrection Sobor on Saturday evening, then the next morning, he presided at the Divine Liturgy at St John of Shanghai Orthodox Church.

On Saturday July 29, 2023 the Most Reverend Irénée, Archbishop of Ottawa and the Archdiocese of Canada lead the Hierarchical Liturgy at the new building Of St Herman Church, Langley, BC. The Archbishop was greeted by the clergy and parishioners. Before and during the Hierarchical Liturgy there were: Entrance Prayers, Vesting of the Hierarch, Lesser Blessing of the Waters, Tonsuring of Reader Ted Matson. Sermon by vladyka Irenee. The Archdiocese of Canada held its 2023 Assembly from 17 to 21 July at the Manoir d'Youville, in Châteauguay, Québec.

His Eminence, Archbishop Irénée, was joined by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, and His Grace, Bishop Alexei of Alaska.

Clergy and faithful from across Canada joined together in the daily services, presentations, and meetings throughout the assembly.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the Canadian Archdiocesan Assembly, which took place on July 18-21, 2023, in Châteauguay, QC.

On Thursday, July 20, His Beatitude addressed the assembly and gave his remarks, speaking on the theme of the assembly: "The person, the family, the Church—Living as the Body of Christ." He encouraged those assembled to consider our various vocations as individuals, communities, dioceses, and the Orthodox Church in America as a whole.

In order to share the experience of the 2023 Archdiocesan Assembly held from 18-21 July in Châteauguay, Québec, and inspire clergy and faithful across the archdiocese to attend the next assembly, we are looking to put together an online album of photos and reflections from those who attended.

The archdiocesan council would also appreciate your feedback on accommodation and organization of the assembly to see what can be improved for the next assembly.

When St Gregory of Nyssa Parish (Kingston, Ontario) purchased their new church in 2022, little did they know the historical legacy surrounding their new parish home.

The former United Church, built in 1881, is located on the same site as the Heritage Cemetery At Cataraqui, a burial ground for Loyalist settlers who came to Upper Canada fleeing for their safety from the American Revolution in the late 18th Century.
