Peacefully departed in the Lord, September 4, 2024 at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 79 years after suffering a major stroke on Monday September 2, 2024.

He was predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law, sisters Freda and Sandra, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

New Mission in Cape Breton, NS

A little over a year ago, Archimandrite David Edwards and the parish of St Vladimir in Halifax, felt it was time to establish a mission in Cape Breton NS. With the blessing of Vladika Irénée, the first liturgy was served August 6 2023 and attended by 17 people, 5 of whom drove up with Fr David from Halifax to help sing and serve.

Vladyka Irénée Celebrates the Patronal Feast at Sts Peter and Paul Sobor, Montréal

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée visited Sts Peter and Paul Sobor (Montréal) and led the patronal feast Services on July 11th (Vigil) and July 12th (Divine Liturgy).

Earlier, on Pascha celebrations, Fr. Gleb Melnyk had been rewarded by the Golden Cross for his 10-year service at the Throne of God. During the Divine Liturgy on July 12th Vladyka Irénée gave the Cross to Fr. Gleb.
