Archbishop Irenée Celebrates Patronal Feast in Vancouver
On Saturday, October 17, His Eminence Archbishop Irenée served the Vigil at Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Sobor in Vancouver, British Columbia. The following day, October 18, His Eminence presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in celebration of the parish’s patronal feast.
Joining Archbishop Irenée for the celebrations were Archbishop Lazar and Bishop Spyridon of Chicago and Mid-America (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia).
During the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Irenée delivered a sermon emphasizing the importance of showing love, kindness, and respect. At the conclusion of the service, the clergy and faithful extended their warm congratulations to the parish rector, Mitred Archpriest Michael Fourik, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
Following the Liturgy, parishioners and Sunday school students presented a festive performance, thoughtfully prepared for the occasion.
The celebrations concluded with a festive dinner graciously hosted by the parish Sisterhood in honour of the patronal feast and Fr. Michael’s milestone birthday, bringing together the visiting hierarchs, clergy, and faithful in a spirit of thanksgiving and fellowship.
