The Feast of St. Nicholas of Myra, December 6, 2015, marked a joyous occasion in the life of the Holy Apostles Mission Station in Chilliwack, BC, as the first Baptism in the life of the community took place.
Le 100ème anniversaire de la cathédrale a été célébré le dimanche 25 octobre 2015. L’histoire de la paroisse a débuté en 1915 lorsque les immigrants russes ont ramassé suffisamment d’argent pour acheter une petite maison en vue y célébrer les offices liturgiques. La paroisse a peiné pour subsister pendant les 15 premières années, mais grâce au dévouement de nos paroissiens fondateurs, elle a pu acheter un temple en 1930. Dès lors, la paroisse a commencé à se développer et a implanté un chœur, une sororité, un bazar de Noël annuel et l’école paroissiale.
The 100th anniversary of the Cathedral was celebrated on Sunday, October 25, 2015. The history of the parish started in 1915 by Russian immigrants who had put together enough money to purchase a small house for celebrating services. The parish had struggled to get by for its first 15 years but by the devotion of our founding parishioners, they were able to purchase a temple in 1930. The parish started to thrive at that point and established a choir, sisterhood, an annual Christmas bazaar and the church school.
