Bishop Irénée visited the Hermitage of Annunciation near New Germany, NS, on April 21-23, 2013

April 21, 2013

During the week of April 21, His Grace, Bishop IRÉNÉE, accompanied by Archpriest Anatoliy Melnyk, the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Canada, and Protodeacon Nazari Polataiko visited the Hermitage of the Annunciation near New Germany, NS, where he was introduced to the life, worship and work of the monks.

The Hermitage of the Annunciation is an Orthodox monastery of the Brotherhood of St. Seraphim of Sarov (Archdiocese of Canada, The Orthodox Church in America). The brotherhood of the hermitage follows the rules and practices of all monastic communities. All visitors are warmly welcome. A monastery is a place of peace where one can find peace from the stress and commotion of the world. As a visitor you are like a pilgrim seeking that spirit of peace. Even for a few hours, you can share the life of the brotherhood. This way of life helps us in the spiritual struggle of the purification of the heart, which leads to the Kingdom of God.
