On a misty Sunday afternoon after Theophany, St. Herman of Alaska parish in Langley BC was joined by Holy Nativity Antiochian parish for the annual Blessing of the Fraser River at Derby Reach Park, Fort Langley.

The Monastery of all Saints of North America hosted the New Year's Yolka for the children twice this year, once for the New Calendar and once for the old. The turn out for both was great, especially the first one, which was held in the Russian Hall in east Vancouver. For the second one, held in the Monastery hall, Bishop Varlaam took the role of Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and passed out the gifts for the children.

On December 12 and 13, 2014 the Patronal Feastday of St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Sobor was celebrated in Edmonton, Alberta. The occasion was marked with the visitation of His Grace, Bishop Irénée, and a four part lecture series, delivered by special guest Fr. Michael Oleksa, from the Diocese of Alaska.

On the feast of St. Nicholas, His Grace Bishop Irénée of Ottawa and Canada visited St Nicholas Orthodox Church in Narol, Manitoba.

Vladika Irénée ordained Matthew Beynon (from the Mission of the Life Giving Springs of the Theotokos) to the holy Diaconate, along with Stephen Sharman, Yuri Hladio and Leighton Knapp (from the same mission) to the Subdiaconate.
