The Monastery of all Saints of North America hosted the New Year's Yolka for the children twice this year, once for the New Calendar and once for the old. The turn out for both was great, especially the first one, which was held in the Russian Hall in east Vancouver. For the second one, held in the Monastery hall, Bishop Varlaam took the role of Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and passed out the gifts for the children.

The Canadian Ambassador to Russia John Kur attended midnight Christmas Divine Liturgy at St Catherine's, Moscow, and also gave Archimandrite Alexander Pihach a statement from Prime Stephen Harper.

On December 12 and 13, 2014 the Patronal Feastday of St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Sobor was celebrated in Edmonton, Alberta. The occasion was marked with the visitation of His Grace, Bishop Irénée, and a four part lecture series, delivered by special guest Fr. Michael Oleksa, from the Diocese of Alaska.
