Archdiocesan Council Tours New St Herman's Church, Langley, BC

Recently Archbishop Irenée and Archdiocesan council members from across Canada came to the Vancouver area for an in-person meeting. At the end of a day of meetings, they adjourned to St Herman's, Langley for a tour of our present building and our temple-in-progress. Parish council members and volunteers from St Herman's hosted a time of fellowship in the space that is now rapidly taking shape. 

Fr Lawrence was asked to give a brief account of our adventures along the way to this immense occasion in our parish, which was first begun in the late 1970s. The Archdiocese recently made a great contribution to this late stage of the project through a substantial loan from bequest funds, a welcome addition to the support we have received from members and friends of the parish far and near. 

The archdiocese also presented us with an icon book from John Hadjinicolaou's Alexander Press.

Vladyka Irenée has promised to return and serve a hierarchical liturgy for our official grand opening on Saturday 29 July this summer. We hope to be joined then by many friends from far and near, and by former members who have moved across the archdiocese and beyond!
