The servant of God, the Archpriest Orest Olekshy of Melville, whose many years in Christ’s vineyard in western Canada endeared him to many, fell asleep in the Lord after a brief illness on March 28, 2017.

The Archdiocesan Council met in Toronto on March 23 and 24 at Christ the Saviour Cathedral to work on plans for the Archdiocesan Assembly in Edmonton this July.

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée awarded Barbara North, lay member from Alberta on the archdiocesan council, a gramota on the occasion of her 70th birthday marking her many years of support for St Herman of Alaska Sobor in Edmonton and the Archdiocese of Canada.

May God grant her many years!

The archdiocesan council is holding its spring meeting at Christ the Saviour Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Toronto on March 23-24.
