Quebec City's first pan-Orthodox liturgy

March 24, 2013

Quebec City's first pan-Orthodox liturgy took place on Sunday, March 24, 2013, on the occasion of the Sunday of Orthodoxy; it brought together Orthodox Christians from all backgrounds.

The liturgy was presided over by his eminence Bishop Irénée of Quebec City, administrator of the Archdiocese of Canada, OCA, with Fr Costas Constantinou (Greek community), Fr Nectaire Féménias (Russian community) and Fr Daniel Postolache (Romanian community) in attendance.

The end of the liturgy saw the celebration of the rite of the triumph of Orthodoxy, commemorating the restoration of the veneration of Holy icons.

The faithful then united over a fraternal agape meal.
