Archbishop Irénée Ordains New Deacon and Subdeacon at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Saskatoon

June 2, 2018

His Eminence, Archbishop Irénée ordains Subdeacon Maximus Ferguson to the holy diaconate and Reader Gregory Rychlo to the subdiaconate at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Concelebrating with the Archbishop were the Rector of the Holy Resurrection Father Leonard Herrem, Archpriest Daniel Guenther and Father Florin along with Deacon John from Saint Vincent of Lerins Orthodox Church Saskatoon.

It was a bright sunny day for the coming of His Eminence Irénée to Holy Resurrection for the ordinations. It had been a couple of years since we had Vladyka come to our parish and everyone was excited to see and have him in our midst. There were many friends and family members in attendance for the ordinations and some that had never attended an Orthodox Liturgy let alone the vesting of a Bishop and the ordinations. A sense of awe was present with the proceedings indeed the blessing of our Lord was upon us. Holy Resurrection has produced a number of clergy throughout the years and some have remained with us while others are serving other parishes throughout Canada and the USA. We are grateful for these newly ordained clergy and will continue to rejoice in the Lord for these servants of God as they will build up the body of Christ at Holy Resurrection. Axios! Axios! Axios!
