All Saints of North America Parish Hosts Chinese Missions Dinner

June 23, 2019

All Saints of North America parish in Hamilton, Ontario is delighted to welcome Father John Whiteford as the guest speaker at this year's Chinese Missions Dinner, on Sunday, June 23rd.

Father John Whiteford was born in Riverside, California, and lived in California, Kentucky, and in his current home of Houston, Texas since 1978.

Father John was raised in the Church of the Nazarene, and began learning about Orthodox Christianity while studying Theology in Oklahoma, where he was baptized in 1990.

In 1995 Father John wrote an article entitled Sola Scriptura: In the Vanity of Their Minds, for the Christian Activist, which laid out many of the theological reasons for his conversion.

He was ordained a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in 2001. Father John is married to Matushka Patricia (Wendy), and the couple has two daughters.

In early 2019, he was invited to give an address at St. Tikhon University in Moscow entitled Causes and Challenges of the Current Crisis of Inter-Orthodox Relations, on which his talk to our Chinese Missions Dinner will be based. His blog can be read at http://fatherjohn.blogspot.com/.
