150th Anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky (France)

On September 12, 2011, St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (France) celebrated the 150th anniversary of his consecration. The Sacred Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence, Metropolitan Chrysostom of Myra, head of the delegation representing His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew 1. It was concelebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Comana, and their Excellencies the Bishops, Bishop Michael (Diocese of Geneva and Western Europe - Russian Orthodox Church Abroad), Archbishop Athenagoras of Sinope (auxiliary bishop of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Belgium, Ecumenical Patriarchate), Bishop Irenaeus (Orthodox Church in America, Montreal - Quebec), Bishop Ignatios (auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese Antiochian Orthodox Europe) and many priests and deacons of the Archdiocese of Churches Orthodox Russians in Western Europe.

Also present at the sanctuary, His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel (Greek Metropolitan of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in France), His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph (Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western Europe), His Excellency Bishop Mark (Auxiliary Bishop, Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western Europe) and His Excellency Bishop Luka (diocese of France and Western Europe of the Patriarchate of Serbia).

Many guests have come to participate in this commemorative liturgy alongside many of the faithful. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Gabriel of Comana delivered a speech on the occasion of this date 150 years jubilee of the consecration of the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky. The Message of His Holiness Bartholomew 1, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, on the occasion of this ecclesial event, was read by His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel.
