Nativity Message of His Eminence, Archbishop Irénée

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill to men!

To the beloved clergy, monastics and faithful of the Archdiocese of Canada, I address my wishes for peace, health and happiness on this Feast of the Nativity According to the Flesh of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christmas is the incarnation of God in man, the heavenly divinity who becomes earthly humanity, the greatness that becomes humility, the one that the universe could not contain laid in a manger. God became man, without ceasing to be God.

At Christmas, being a Christian means turning to our loved ones, and also to the poorest, the sick, children without love or without parents, those who are most vulnerable around us, to share our profound joy and our love.
