Dear brother in Christ and concelebrant of the holy mysteries,

I offer you my fraternal greetings for the feast of the Dormition of the purest and ever-virgin Mother of God. May this day fill you with joy and give you the grace to continue bearing the belief of the episcopal ministry through the intercessions of the Theotokos.

There have been a number of additional lightning strikes close to Holy Transfiguration Hermitage (north of Sheridan Lake) and the Elephant Hill fire is once again growing and moving closer to the hermitage due to high winds. On Saturday August 12, an evacuation order which included southern areas to within about three kilometers south of the hermitage was issued. Fathers Gregory and Samuel and Brother Moses have been advised that it would be wise to once again leave the hermitage as it is very likely that an evacuation order will be coming in the next couple of days for their property.

The Monastery of All Saints of North America in Dewdney, British Columbia, celebrates its feast 'The Joy Of Canada' on the last Sunday of July, and each year there is a concern about the weather—will it be bright and sunny to allow us to have a procession to the memorial in the field, or will there be a West Coast summer downpour?
