At the invitation of the Orthodox Clergy Fellowship of the Greater Toronto Area, His Eminence Archbishop Irénée presided at the annual Toronto Pan-Orthodox Vespers for the Feast of Orthodoxy.

The service was held on Sunday 25 February in the chapel of Trinity College at the University of Toronto, hosted by the Orthodox School of Theology at Trinity College, a graduate theological school offering MTS and MDiv degrees to prepare clergy and lay people for service in the Orthodox Church in Canada.

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée visited Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission in Toronto for the First Sunday of Great Lent.

The mission, established in 2016, meets in the chapel of Trinity College at the University of Toronto, and is integrated with the Orthodox School of Theology at Trinity College.

The parishioners of Holy Trinity Parish in Smoky Lake, AB, combined with many from the Century Orthodox Parishes (Smoky Lake - Andrew - Willingdon districts) gathered on Sunday February 25th for the First Sunday in Great Lent where a very grand procession of the Holy Icons was held after the Divine Liturgy for the Sunday of Orthodoxy.

Holy Martyr Peter the Aleut Church in Calgary is organizing a week-long St Athanasius Seminar in Calgary from 14-18 May 2018, to be hosted at Ambrose University in Calgary.

Fr John Behr, Professor of Patristics at St Vladimir’s Seminary, will be teaching a course called “Shaping the Faith: The Theology of Ignatius, Irenaeus, Origen, and Athanasius.”

Fr Phillip Eriksson, rector of St Peter's, is asking for early registration so that they may accurately gauge numbers. A late fee will be charged for applications received after 1 April.

The monks of Holy Transfiguration Hermitage in BC have created a collection of liturgical hymns set to Gregorian melodies.

Many people think of Gregorian, or Plainchant, as the Medieval song of the Roman Catholic Church, but this only represents one chapter of an epic story. In fact, Western Plainchant is one of the most ancient and venerable modal traditions in the world, with deep roots in the music of Old Testament Israel and Classical Greece.

In three talks, Very Rev Dr John Behr will explore the mystery of the Cross of Christ in our lives and in the life of the Church, with time for questions and discussion.
