On October 02, the 16th Sunday after Pascha, the Sunday after the Universal Elevation of the Precious and Life-Creating Cross of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Irénée celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Sobor of the Christ the Saviour in Toronto, ON. Concelebrating with His Grace were the Archimandrite Alexander (Pihach) (Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Canada, Dean of Alberta, and Rector of the Sobor of St. Herman of Alaska in Edmonton), the Archpriest Vasyl' Kolega (Rector of the Sobor of the Christ the Saviour in Toronto, ON), the Priest Nicholas Young, the Priest Alexei Vsssiouchkine and the Protodeacon Nazari Polataiko.

For many decades, Christ the Saviour Sobor has been serving the Eastern European communities of Toronto, providing a centre of worship and a meeting place for immigrants, their families, and their descendants. Especially now Sobor continue this missionary service to new immigrants from the former Soviet Union living in great numbers in Greater Toronto area.

With a large congregation, community is able to support a talented choir of parishioners which adds the beauty of their music to all services throughout the year. They also give concerts of traditional church and folk music at various times.

After Sunday liturgies Sobor welcome all worshipers to come over to parish refectory (trapeza) for a tasty meal, coffee and tea. This is provided by Sobor sisterhood in cooperation with the school parental committee.

Christ the Saviour Sobor looks forward to welcoming Toronto’s residents and visitors in the future as we have in the past.

From Highway 401
Exit Allen Rd south and travel south on Allen Rd to Eglinton Ave. Turn left onto Eglinton Ave and follow to Bathurst St. Turn right on Bathurst and follow to Dupont. Turn right onto Dupont and follow to Manning. Turn left on Manning, and the Church is on the left.

By Subway
Exit Christie station (one exit only) to Christie, continue to Christie to Follis, turn right to Follis, walk to corner of Manning and Follis Sts.

Schedule of Services

At Christ the Saviour Sobor we follow the old Julian Calendar. Services are in Church Slavonic.  (Epistle and Gospel are read in both modern Russian and English).  All needs (treby): baptisms, weddings, funerals, memorial services and molebens can be served by request in both languages.

6:00 PM Vigil and Confessions.
Saturday Evening

10:00 AM Divine Liturgy.
Sunday Morning

7:00 PM All-night Vigil.
Eves of Great Feasts

Confessions are heard following all evening services and one hour before the Liturgy.
