First Scholarship Awarded in the Master of Divinity
Degree Program of the University of Winnipeg,
with which St. Arseny Institute is Affiliated

John Leggat, President of the Cropo Funeral Chapel (right) presents Kevin Wigglesworth (centre) with the first scholarship awarded to a student in the University of Winnipeg’s Master of Divinity Degree Program, offered by the Faculty of Theology, with which St. Arseny Institute is affiliated. Sir Thomas Cropo, whose portrait is in the background, was a benefactor of many projects for the Orthodox Church and beyond during his lifetime. The Sir Thomas Cropo Foundation carries on the tradition.

Also, the Cropo Funeral Chapel has contributed generously to the scholarship fund from which scholarships have been provided previously to students in the St. Arseny Institute Diaconal Program of Studies. Kevin and Amanda Eve have moved from St. Peter the Aleut parish in Calgary to Winnipeg where both are now employed. They are participating in the Theotokos of the Life-Giving Spring Mission. Kevin is taking several courses per term toward the Master of Divinity Degree. Protopresbyter Mirone Klysh (on the left), registrar and faculty member of the St. Arseny Institute, represented the Institute at the presentation.
