On this the first anniversary of the falling asleep of Archimandrite Alexander (Pihac), former Dean of St Catherine's and Representative of the OCA to the Moscow Patriarchate, His Grace Bishop Daniel of Santa Rosa, accompanied by Archpriest Christopher Hill, Archpriest Valentine Vasechko, and Archpriest Kirill Sokolov, served a Panakhida Service at St Catherine's in memory of Fr Alexander. May his memory be eternal.

Archbishop Irénée celebrated the Nativity of the Theotokos at St Mary and Holy Martyrs Brancoveanu Church in Kitchener, ON. Concelebrating were Fr Didel Furtuna, Fr Dumitru Ichim, Romanian Episcopate (OCA) Fr Vasyl Kolega and Deacon Ivan Symchyna.

Fr Didel Furtuna was elevated to the rank of Archpriest and was awarded the pectoral Jeweled Cross.

Parishioners also venerated the Wonderworking Belt and relics of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco.

On Monday, September 11, many dozens of firefighters from the Edmonton Fire Department gathered at the Firefighter Memorial in Edmonton to remember that fateful day of 9/11, 2001 which saw thousands of lives lost in the brutal acts of terrorism in the USA, among them, 343 firefighters.

The Edmonton firefighters were joined by many from other departments including Smoky Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Archimandrite Gerasim is the Fire Chaplain for Smoky Lake and also himself a volunteer firefighter with the department.
