At the request of His Eminence, Archbishop Irénée, and on behalf of the 2017 Canadian Archdiocesan Assembly Planning Committee, I would like to invite all of you to join us in Edmonton, Alberta, during the week of July 25-28 for our tri-annual Canadian Assembly and Clergy Synaxis. The Synaxis and Assembly will be held in the Sandman Hotel West Edmonton.

With the blessing of Archbishop Irénée, Fr Nilos Nellis celebrated the first Vespers and Divine Liturgy at the new Nativity of the Theotokos mission parish in Kaslo on December 1st and 2nd, with Deacon Paul Bartlett assisting.

Great Vespers with the blessing of loaves was celebrated in Narol, Manitoba, for the feast of St Nicholas, beloved patron of the church and cemetery.

The parish was blessed to have Fr Nicholas Tambakis (St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church) serve with them and to celebrate the life of this blessed saint with the faithful from the greater Orthodox community of Winnipeg.

By the prayers of St Nicholas may we all strive to serve the Lord and our neighbour with the same love and humility! Most Holy Nicholas, pray to God for us.

Archbishop Irénée made a hierarchical visit to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sign of the Theotokos Church in Montréal. Concelebrating with His Eminence were former rector and founder, Fr John Tkachuk, Fr Cyprian Hutcheon, Fr Gregory Nimijean, Fr Anatoliy Melnyk, Fr Stelian Liabotis, Archimandrite Marc, and Deacon Anthony Monsour.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Susan Jane Blomquist, who left us peacefully on the morning of November 7th with family and friends in attendance. Susan is survived by her three children, Stacy (Robbie), Christopher (Marie) and Michael (Shannon) and her grandchildren Jeffrey, Ashley, Taylor and Jordan.

Archdiocese of Canada clergy in Toronto joined together with other members of the Orthodox Clergy Association of the Greater Toronto Area at Panagia Greek Orthodox Church on 13 November to concelebrate the Feast of St John Chrysostom in the Divine Liturgy.

The liturgy was followed by a luncheon to honour the association's past president, Fr John Koulouras, who has been unable to serve in recent years following a severe stroke.

An icon of the Theotokos was presented to Fr John for his many years of service as president of the clergy association.
