When St Gregory of Nyssa Parish (Kingston, Ontario) purchased their new church in 2022, little did they know the historical legacy surrounding their new parish home.

The former United Church, built in 1881, is located on the same site as the Heritage Cemetery At Cataraqui, a burial ground for Loyalist settlers who came to Upper Canada fleeing for their safety from the American Revolution in the late 18th Century.

On Spirit Monday, Archbishop Irénée, Archpriest Gregory Scratch (priest in charge of the mission), and Deacon Denis Letunovsky (St Seraphim of Sarov Rawdon QC), made the 90-minute drive from Winnipeg to serve a Molieben of Thanksgiving with the faithful of the Christ the Saviour Mission in Winkler, Manitoba.

A book is being prepared in conjunction with the 120th anniversary celebration of the establishment of Sts Peter and Paul Romanian Orthodox church in Canora, Saskatchewan, which is the physical home of Holy Andrew-the-First-Called Apostle parish.

It was a joy to have His Eminence, our Archbishop Irénée at Holy Apostles Orthodox Mission in Chilliwack this past Sunday. Vladyka Irénée led us in the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the Fourth Sunday of Pascha, 2023. Christ is Risen! Eis Polla Eti Dhespota!

Recently Archbishop Irenée and Archdiocesan council members from across Canada came to the Vancouver area for an in-person meeting. At the end of a day of meetings, they adjourned to St Herman's, Langley for a tour of our present building and our temple-in-progress. Parish council members and volunteers from St Herman's hosted a time of fellowship in the space that is now rapidly taking shape.

Nearly one hundred friends and clergy from the last two decades gathered on Sunday, April 23rd (Thomas Sunday) in Hamilton, Ontario, to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of All Saints of North America Orthodox Church.   

Following the morning festal Liturgy, clergy from Toronto, Niagara, and Ottawa joined His Eminence Archbishop Irénée at the head tables for a grand banquet to mark the missionary work of the parish over twenty years.
