His Eminence Archbishop Irénée made his annual archpastoral visit to St Gregory of Nyssa Orthodox Church in Kingston, Ontario, on Sunday May 26th, 2024. 

His visit celebrates the second anniversary of the purchase of our new property in June 2022. There were 78 people in attendance for the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Archpriest Nicolas Boldireff fell asleep in the Lord at age 78 after a long illness.  He had been a priest of the Orthodox Church in America, serving parishes in both the United States and Canada, for more than half a century.

This past weekend heralded a vibrant chapter in the life of St Maria of Paris Orthodox Church in Hamilton, Ontario. With hearts open to learning and fellowship, our parish community embarked on a journey of enrichment and celebration.

For the first time in eight years, the archdiocesan council met for meetings in Manitoba, at St Nicholas of Narol (20 min north of Winnipeg). Between 9 and 10 April,  the council clergy and lay representatives of the archdiocese, with his Eminence Archbishop Irénée, presented and heard various reports about the financial and pastoral and administrative life of the Church, and had discussions about further strengthening and enhancing the life of the faithful and parishes in the archdiocese.

The clergy and faithful of Montreal parishes congregated at Saints Peter & Paul Cathedral to celebrate the Vespers of the Sunday of Orthodoxy. The service was presided by His Eminence Archbishop Irénée and clergy of the OCA parishes, Archpriest Anatoliy Melnyk, Archpriest Alexander Janowski, Archpriest Paul Kara, Priest Gleb Melnyk, Priest Alexandru Gheras, and Priest Elias Fonseca, Deacon Denis Letunovsky, and Deacon Dmitry Belyaykov. Four choirs participated in French, Moldavian, English and Slavonic. The sermon was given by the Rev.

On Saturday 3 February, St Olga of Alaska Mission began its existence with the inaugural service of Great Vespers. St Olga’s Mission was born out of the desire of St Herman of Alaska parish in Edmonton to spread the gospel and Orthodox Christianity in the south of Edmonton. The vision was to “build out, not up,” and so under the leadership of Fr Ryan Bishop, 50 intrepid members from St Herman’s set out to accomplish this massive undertaking.

Deacon Horia Roscanu fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2024, after over two years battling cancer.  Ordained to the diaconal ministry a year ago, he was serving the French-speaking parish Saint Benoît de Nursie in Montréal.

Friends will be received on Friday January 25th from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the  Lajeunesse Fortin Cenac Funeral Home, 3535 boul Levesque East, Laval.

The Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 27th, presided by His Eminence, Archbishop Irénée at 9:30 am at Saint Benoit de Nursie, 807 Sainte Croix, St Laurent, Québec.

Peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Riverview Health Centre, the Servant of God, the Archpriest Robert Wayne Stephen Kennaugh (Father Bob) fell asleep in the Lord, with family by his side.
