Fall Meeting of the Archdiocesan Council
at the Sobor of Sts. Peter and Paul in Montreal, QC, October 14-16, 2011
The Fall meeting of the Archdiocesan Council began on Friday morning, October 14, 2011. The Divine Liturgy was served by the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Canada, Archimandrite Alexander (Pihach), assisted by clergy members of the Archdiocesan Council. The Liturgy was followed by a Moleben, asking God's blessing that the Holy Spirit guide the Council meeting with wisdom, and that the Council receive it. The meeting was chaired by His Grace Bishop Irénée, Administrator of the Archdiocese of Canada.
The work and deliberations of the Council continued through Friday and Saturday, October 14 and 15. This Fall Meeting formally concluded just before the time for beginning the Vigil. On October 16, the Sunday of Fathers of the 7th Ecumenical Council, His Grace Bishop Irénée served the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at the Sobor of Sts. Peter and Paul. Serving together with His Grace were Mitred Archpriest Anatoliy Mel'nyk, Dean of Quebec, Archpriest Alexander Janowski (retired), Hieromonk Basil (Paradis) (retired), Protodeacon Nazari Polataiko, Secretary of the Archdiocese of Canada, Deacons Peter Boitchuk and Nikolai Svetlovsky, Subdeacons Jeremy Scratch, Jesse Isaac and others. The minutes of the meeting will be published shortly.
