Metropolitan Tikhon Leads Archdiocesan Clergy Synaxis

October 3, 2014

His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon led the clergy of the archdiocese in their synaxis on Friday, October 3, 2014 in Gatineau, Québec.

The metropolitan gave an engaging presentation on 'The Apostolic Work of the Church', drawing on resources and examples from Scripture, the liturgy and the lives of the saints, as well as the contemporary life of the church.

In his talk, Metropolitan Tikhon also stressed three key goals for the Orthodox Church in America in the coming years: missions and evangelism, clergy health, and the strengthening of the church's institutions, especially seminaries and monasteries.

A lively discussion followed with the metropolitan as well as His Grace Bishop Irénée as the assembled priests and deacons raised topics of interest and concern.
